The first edition of the novel was published in May 7th , and was written by Alyson Noel. The book was published in multiple languages including English, consists of pages and is available in Hardcover format. The main characters of this fantasy, fantasy story are ,. The book has been awarded with , and many others. The Raku may also be used during healing sessions to ground the practitioner or the patient receiving a treatment.
The symbol and practice was brought to the West by Arthur Robertson, who was a student of Ishikuro. Tomorrow we will start practicing attunements with each other, beginning with Level I. Also the Gassho meditation will be very helpful for the rest of this program and then as you enter in to your own practice. I mentioned we are doing some things that may seem out of order or backwards - but I believe beginning with the attunement for this level will maximize your experience during the rest of the program.
First is a mini attunement to Raku to make it yours, followed by the attunement as Usui Reiki Master Teacher. You might want to have some soft music playing in the background. Now find a comfortable and quiet place for the rest of this attunement. This will take about 30 minutes so you might want to sit down, back straight. Begin by looking at the Raku symbol; fix it into your mind.
Take several deep breaths to relax and bring your hands to the Gassho or prayer position, first in front of your heart, close your eyes and bring your hands to your forehead. Now rest them on your thighs, palms up and cupped slightly.
When you are ready, focus on the Raku symbol, feel its energy running through your body, from the top of your head, down the spine, into your legs and down to the ground. This Initiation opens the crown chakra to connect with and channel more universal energy light, and initiates universal wisdom and purpose to flow. The pineal gland located at the 7th chakra crown increases perception of light, plus connects student to the universal source of energy. The pituitary gland located at the 6th chakra third eye is also influenced to balance the endocrine system as well as the brain.
This initiation completes the process allowing the energy channels to remain open. Attunement opens cervical and spinal column to improve the functioning of entire nervous system, plus open throat chakra to enhance communication. Position: Back of Student; Area — Both Shoulders Continue standing behind student and place one hand on each shoulder. See the symbol penetrate these areas; wait until you feel the process is completed before continuing — use your intuition.
Kneel in front of student and place both their hands in open hand position palms open and facing upward on their lap. Apply symbols to each hand separately. Starting with the left hand, cup your hands. See the three symbols penetrate into the hand. Keep the left palm open and facing upward as you repeat the same procedure to the right hand.
Once the procedure is completed on both hands, with the palms still open, simultaneously with both your hands, gently tap both palms 3-times to seal the symbols in. Criss-cross their hands across their heart and then criss-cross your hands over theirs. Hold this position until you feel that the initiation is completed -use your intuition.
When finished, walk counter-clockwise to back of student, bow to Usui sensei and give a silent prayer of gratitude, e. Let the student know the attunement is completed. Student bows first to Usui sensei, then to Reiki Master Teacher to show respect , before leaving the room to return to their chair to continue meditating When all attunements are completed, change from your attunement garment, do your cleansing exercise E.
When your intention to receive is stated, the attunement automatically begins. An even more simple way is to state your intent to send the attunement to the student or students by name and then allow the universe to continue with the attunement. There are many other methods as well, Intent is the key, so choose the method your feel most comfortable with or create your own.
Congratulations, you have now completed level I of the Usui Reiki Ryoho program and are ready to practice. Others say attunements are the most important part. I believe they are equally important. Yes, one may receive attunements without formal training, and may even feel that flow of Reiki energy as it enters the Crown Chakra and races through the whole body.
On the other hand, what is knowledge without action? All the knowledge in the world is useless until it is put into motion, sort of like an unread book. This is where the Master Teacher comes into play; you have the honor of bringing synchronicity and harmony to the union of knowledge and attunements. We also have to acknowledge that attunements maybe be received without a Sensei as well by connecting directly to the source of Reiki as Usui Sensei did following his day meditation on Mount Kurama.
Attunements are an energy exchange, from master and the universe to the student. Training is the activation switch that allows that energy to flow. What is it really worth? It is said that when Mikao Usui first experienced the healing energy of Reiki he offered it freely and without charge. Hawayo Takata when she brought Reiki from Japan to Hawaii and the western world. I do agree with Usui Sensei about the importance of an energy exchange.
Each practitioner and teacher should decide for themselves. My choice was to ask for what I consider very valuable; the commitment to use this energy for good, and maybe a smile. Following your attunement yesterday, your healing energy is probably flowing stronger and more intense.
You may even feel more connected with yourself and the universe. Another valuable exchange is your feedback so please share what you felt during your Master Teacher attunement, also any experiences or thoughts while practicing the level I attunement as well. Now that you have experienced energy while receiving, as well as giving, an attunement, continue to practice today with the Level I attunement.
Again I believe you will see the importance of visualization and working with your mind. There are many methods to give this attunement; here is one that I often use. I only use one initiation for Level II. For Hands on Attunement: Draw or visualize each of these Symbols, while repeating the name of each 3 times.
Place both hands on the top of the head. Close your eyes, meditating briefly, to gain energetic rapport with the student. Draw the Usui Master Symbol over the head, while repeating the secret name of the Usui Master Symbol three times to you in mantra — like fashion. Picture the symbol, guiding it with your right hand, moving it into the Crown Chakra through the head, and lodging in the base of the brain.
Draw the Power Symbol in the air over the hands. Picture the symbol moving into the hands, down into the Crown Chakra, through the head, and lodging in the base of the brain. Chant the secret name of the Symbol to yourself three times, as you place the symbol into the Hands and Brain. Picture the symbol, guiding it your right hand, and moving it into the Crown Chakra through the head, and lodging in the base of the brain.
Draw the Distant Symbol over the head. Chant the secret name of the symbol to yourself three times, as you place the symbol into the Hands and Brain. Move to the front of the student. Part II 1. Draw the Distant Symbol in front of the third Eye, chanting the Secret name of the symbol to yourself, three times, as you visualize it moving into the head, through the Third Eye. With your right hand, draw the Power Symbol in the air above the hands.
Picture the symbol moving into the hands as you chant the secret name to yourself three times. Slap the hands three times. With your right hand, draw the Distant Symbol in the air above the hands. Blow over the hands, up to the Third Eye and Crown, and back over the hands to the Solar Plexus, and back to the hands.
Return to back of your student. Part III 1. Bring your hands together, placing your thumbs at the base of the skull. Intend, will, and feel that the process it sealed and complete, and the student is now connected directly to the Reiki source.
Ask the student to place their hands palms down on their thighs, breathe deeply and slowly, while opening their eyes. Ethics should be common sense conduct, respect self, students, clients, and Reiki itself. However, this is not always the case. Most often, it isn't an intentional violation of courtesy or respect, nor are the accusations made with malice. However, intention and perception are not always the same.
There are a few simple things we can do to prevent misperceptions; things like speak softly and smile a lot. This is just me, but I never actually touch a student nor one who is being treated, I work in the aura about 6 inches away from the body. Many countries require professionals to have insurance as well. That is one major benefit of membership with a Reiki Association; Insurance is more affordable at a group rate.
In addition, you can write and post your own ethics code without being a member of any association. Just for today: I will let go of Anger.
All Information discussed between the practitioner and client will remain confidential. Provide a safe and comfortable area for client sessions.
Provide an empowering and supportive environment for clients. Inform the client that Reiki is not a substitute for qualified medical or professional care but is instead a valuable part of a wholesome wellness program. Ask if the client has seen or is seeing a medical professional for any condition. Suggest the client speak with their attending medical professional prior to any Reiki session. Reiki is a wonderful supplement to medical treatment but is not a substitute or replacement for medical treatment by a licensed medical professional.
Now we turn to a Traditional Third degree Attunement A meditation, prayer, or simply a statement of intent may be done to help make a connection between the Master, the student, and the Reiki energy in preparing for the Attunement. When the Master feels the connection is made the attunement begins. The positioning is the same as with the other Reiki Attunements.
Step 2: Walk counter clockwise to back of Initiate. Take a deep breath and hold, while placing the tip of your tongue at the back of your upper front teeth. Raise your non- dominant arm and hand with the palm open. Reach forward over the shoulders with both hands and hold the student's hands while blowing into the Crown Chakra At this point some will also again do the complete attunements for Levels I and II.
I do not but it is completely up to you. Also, I do not actually touch the student's hands; I simply place my hands, palms down above their hands so the energy can flow from my palms into their palms. Step 3: Ask the student to place their hands over the heart Chakra and step back and say to the initiate:" You can open your eyes whenever you are ready.
This concludes the Master Practitioner Degree Attunement. Of course, there are more elaborate and lengthy attunement rituals, however I prefer to use the simpler ones. I find there is a greater difference between masters giving this attunement than with any other attunements. Some will say a prayer or simply state their intention. Then call upon Reiki to attune the student with Source. Some simply repeat Level III. I use the same procedure for local or remote attunements.
With remote, I just add more visualization. It may also be done with a proxy. Ask the students to sit, eyes closed and hands held together in the Gassho praying position about chest high. I usually stand in front of the students, although many will begin behind. For the Master Teacher attunement, I work directly with three Chakra points, with each sending the energy throughout body. I Begin with the Crown Chakra for thought and the relationship between Spirit and body, which will keep those thoughts pure.
Then I move to the Throat Chakra for communication with clarity, honesty, and respect, and finally the Heart Chakra, for dedication and unconditional love for self, those we service, and the Source who gives freely the Reiki energy. I repeat this a second time for additional enhancement, since the Teacher is responsible for self and all those trained. I do the same thing with the Throat Chakra, and then the Heart Chakra.
To close each attunement, I step back; hold my hands together, palms toward the student, fingers touching and ask the student to do the same. I visualize a beam of light flowing from my hands to theirs. In that light I trace the four symbols again, followed by the Raku symbol, to finish and seal the energy transferred to the student. Then I bow toward the student and say Namaste. The transfer is now complete.
Remember Raku is an optional symbol, so feel the energy, is it awake or asleep, then decide if you want to include it in your practice.
This Reiki Master Teacher class offers many of the basic tools you need to become a successful Reiki instructor, no one is completely ready to teach immediately after certification.
A lot of practice and a lot of thought, inner guidance, and sometimes, even work on personal issues are needed before teaching a class. The old saying "when the student is ready, the teacher appears" also is true in reverse. When the teacher is ready, the students will appear.
Waiting is not a time of sitting around twiddling our thumbs. We can practice with Reiki treatments, also recording our experiences in a journal. If we will write down questions that clients may ask, and comments that we have, while researching we can gain even more knowledge.
When we do actually begin to teach a class, we will be able to do much more than just recite a few facts from a book, we can also share practical, hands-on experience. You will need to make many decisions before you stand in front of a group of student; material to be used, location - local or distant, class size, how often will classes be held and for how long, if local is the area large enough for the class, restroom facilities, business license, insurance, marketing cost, and price or energy exchange.
No two classes are the same, while a class outline is important, we must remain flexible for those unique experiences. Teaching Reiki is a very moving and very rewarding experience. Yes, of course, content and accuracy are important, that is what you want to present, but how?
For us to write an effective outline or lesson plans — we need to know our audience; you might want to use intuition for part of this. Of course, this is easy when teaching friends or relatives, but that is an exception rather than reality. In addition, of course, we can see the students, read their non-verbal feedback. However when teaching via the internet, students are much more diverse, different cultures, different languages, an even more varied religious beliefs, although Reiki is completely non-religious, we still need to be aware.
Whether in person or over distance, there are some common ways not to just talk, but actually teach effectively. Personally, I like to begin with an introduction — first of myself, and then ask the students to say a little about themselves. This removes some barriers for effective communication.
Also be flexible, you will encounter at least one student or client during your career, who sees things differently than you do. Be flexible with how you present your message.
One of the most important things is to be yourself, honesty goes a long way to a better understanding, however the number one rule is never assume. Therefore, I assumed that everyone who practiced Reiki must also practice Self-Treatment. Wrong, I assumed, do not make the same mistake.
Learn your audience and stay flexible, do not assume. Therefore, here is part of the conversation that prompted this post. Decide for yourself about how you will present self-treatment when you begin teaching.
Again — this is your choice - But Do Not Assume. In the third world it worked fine but not since we left that time and space. As a Lightworker, and on a higher dimensional plane, I no longer practice self-treatment. Talk with your guides, angels, or other Lightworkers, see what they have to say. Yet it can also be a wonderful opportunity to explore the different belief systems, without saying one way is right and the other wrong.
This can emphasize that we each make our own choices about what is right for us, whether teacher, student, or practitioner.
We really need to always consider how our message might be perceived by others, and plan our presentations accordingly with flexibility, so the content may be understood and accepted; so remember - "Do Not Assume. This method is effective and similar to the way I do the distant imprints, once prepared it is for the student to accept when they want to. Really helps for distance work and different time zones. A Chi ball is really just a ball of energy prepared by the teacher to send to another person.
The Chi ball can be prepared at any time and the recipient can choose to receive it at any time — there is no time or distance limit.
Step 1 - Creating — How is a Chi ball made? Actually there and several ways to make a Chi ball, and eventually you will find your own way, as you become more confident with your own intuition. For now, though here is a general method for forming these energy balls. First relax, smile, fill your mind with positive thoughts, we do not want to create a ball with negative energy. Sit in a chair, back straight, yet comfortable, bring your hands together then slowly pull them apart. You might notice a slight tugging or a resistance between the palms.
Your palms may be warm or cool, or you may not feel any temperatures at all. I do this several times, then rub my palms together to build a big ball of energy. Now mold the energy into a round orb or ball.
Take a couple of deep breaths, then gently blow into the energy ball, and while you focusing your attention on positive things and on harmony. If you work with guides, you might ask them to blend their energy with yours. Now you may add color s or even give it a sound, if you want to, if not that is ok too. Next set your intentions on who it is to be sent to and the level the attunement. Now visualize the symbols flowing into the Chi ball.
When you feel the ball has everything in it that you want to add, imagine the ball being closed or sealed I use the Raku symbol like a postage stamp, but do it your way. Finally show your gratitude by thanking the energy source and any guides or angels who worked with you. Intent and intuition seem to go hand in hand. On the other side, intention is connected with our actions. We choose to do something and we act based on that choice, our determination to do something, then doing it.
We also studied, reviewed and practiced hand positions for both self and others. Practice leads to integration into being, the longer we practice we begin trusting self, more and more. Through self-trust, we build our intuition. However, as we become more experienced we learn that intuition and intention are hand in hand, complementing each other. Well Intentions are decision we make to manifest a specific positive outcome. Example: My intention is to finish writing this post.
When setting our intentions, we really need to be as specific and clear as possible. Sometimes this may be a little difficult, so here is an excise to help. Soon after we get out of bed and grab our first cup of coffee or tea, think about a target for our intention. In the beginning start with something small, and think about something you want, then say it clearly in a simple sentence starting with "I intend.
Practice this for several days, on small things at first, but each day begin to think about bigger and bigger things until you are able to work on larger things. Level IV — Reiki Master Teacher — Shihan— Week 2 Day 4 — Strengthening Intuition Some ways to strengthen our Intuition plus our confidence and trust A form al definition 0 f Intuition is the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning.
Sounds simple right? Maybe even too simple? We need work on the trust and strengthen our Intuition. Deep inside our brains, hidden among the wrinkles of knowledge and memories we find the home of our Intuition.
Often pushed aside Intuition connects to each of our sensory organs, continuing though the gut and back up again to its home within the brain. We can see how intuition, or gut instinct, is the sum of all our senses. Our subconscious brain is working in the background, taking in glances, smells, visual cues and tone of voice, processing the data received. Intuition examines that data, analyzes it, and all of this in the background, and then makes a subconscious decision.
We can recognize that inner voice, the voice of our gutter more clearly. We need to accept it and that comes through confirmation. We all probably need to flex that Intuition muscle and exercise. Create white space - We cannot tap into our inner wisdom if our brain is cluttered with daily actions. If we are facing and important decision we might need to go for a walk, listen to music.
Allow our thoughts to flow with images of fishing, boating, climbing a. Now focus on that image and let it flow. Ignore the facts - This statement may sound a bit crazy. We are not really ignoring the facts forever, just setting them aside for a short time, while we think of nothing or maybe some thoughts of butterflies and flowers, beautiful and happy thoughts.
How does our body feel with these relaxing thoughts? How does our body react to these negative thought, Do this for all emotions, and note if the body feels the same or different to each emotion.
We often feel things in our gut before we know it in our brain. So go through list of emotions again, however this time note our stomach muscles. Do they tighten?
Do they relax? We are breaking through the clutter to harness our inner wisdom. We are likely to discover that we already have most of the answers.
One more exercise, to strengthen our Intuition, and help us trust it more. A trust, strong enough that we will fall backwards into the waiting arms of our gut instincts.
Build our confidence with positive affirmations - Affirmations help us with mental focus. I like to do some deep breathing, great for relaxation. This combines effects of a relaxed body with a focused or centered mind. Affirmations tap into the power of our subconscious mind to help reach our conscious desires.
Affirmations should be sentences said in a positive and concise way. It is to always important to use the present tense with our affirmations. Here are a few examples of affirmations to increase our intuitive abilities. Soon you will "know" without even thinking about it. It was here where we began to lay a foundation for our House of Reiki. We learned hand positions for self, for others, and for animals. We took the first steps in our journey of Reiki.
We were connected with Reiki by an attunement. With these tools, a frame started to rise on the foundation we laid in Level I we started to build the frame for our house but we were still working pretty, our abilities were still limited to those we could touch. Through repetition and practice, we began to assimilate the hand positions and the symbols, into our beings. We use this symbol in initiations to attune practitioners with the energy of Reiki. We have transitioned from learning Reiki, to knowing Reiki, and now being one with Reiki.
We have decided that we want to teach and share with others this blessing of Reiki. Our next step is upon the path of Shihan, the Master Teacher. Our first week was about attunements, still a week of theory and knowledge, we practice among ourselves. This second week, we began to interact with those learning the levels of practitioner. No longer practice; we actually attuned others to the energy that is Reiki. We gained practical experience as teachers. Next week our path takes a slight turn; it is all about the business of Reiki.
We look at some of the logistics of establishing a healing practice and of building a business as a teacher.
