You can just add a CommandButton control to the form page and in the Click event for that you can hardcode the Folder and the View properties of the control. Also, is this only a problem with the public folder calendar in which case some odd permissions issue may be coming into play?
Does your own personal calendar render OK? It does seem to be just with the public folder Calendar. Yes, my personal Calendar is OK. It just doesn't seem to connect to the public calendar.
